Consisting of three animated videos, The Danish Chair is an educational project that explores mid-20th-century Danish design through chairs.
First, discover Danish Modern - a broad style of designed objects that brought international fame to Danish designers. Then, get to know designers Hans J. Wegner and Arne Jacobsen. Finally, head to [thedanishchair.com](http://thedanishchair.com) to get more context and discover other great Danish designers and craftspeople.
Why chairs?
'The chair is the closest thing to a human being. You can give it a personal expression.' - Hans J. Wegner
During a visit to Designmuseum Danmark in Copenhagen in 2018, I was fascinated by their meticulously crafted chair exhibits that could easily serve as pieces of art. This was the perfect inspiration for this animated series I produced in my final year at university. I hope it instills viewers with a similar sense of appreciation for Danish design that I felt back then.
